I travel often and have experience wearing everything from sweatpants to jeans and dresses. After many failed attempts at being comfortable and chic I finally found the perfect travel outfit. First up, comfy leggings. These are not your typical leggings but are high quality with a wider waistband. They could even be worn as skinny pants if you want to change into a tunic later. I paired them with a basic white shirt that does not wrinkle, a white cropped trench and nude ballet flats. Finally, to top it off I added this adorable hat to double as a pool or sun hat later on my trip. I found the leggings made it easy to sit squished on a flight and then the layered jacket and shirt kept me warm or cool depending on the temperatures. Finally, ballet flats are easy to slip on and off through security and then on the plane to trade out with socks.

If you are in a warm weather climate you are probably a lot like me where you spend the majority of the Summer in swimsuits. Whether it's at my pool or chilling somewhere on the beach, I am in swimwear for about three months solid. Although I love swimsuits, I also think it's important to have a good cover up. That way you can walk around without feeling like you are bearing it all. I'll be sharing with you guys in an upcoming post a few other ideas for coverups, but for today let's talk about using an oversized scarf as a sarong. I picked this embroidered one up a few years ago at a great price. It's long instead of square and works perfectly with this off the shoulder swimsuit. You can easily tie it. I wrapped it around my waist and then tied part of the sides together in a knot instead of the ends. It's super easy to do and looks really elegant. I've rounded up some other scarves I'm loving below. All of them are under $50 and great for a cover up!

Today's inspiration comes from soft white and blue interiors. The combination of white and blue has been a longtime favorite of mine (see this Pin and this one). It started with collecting beautiful plates and grew from there. Transferware is a popular type of dishes and has a french country feel. I rounded up a few lovely items for you to take a look at if you are interested in add some of these touches to your own decor. Meanwhile, check out some of the Pins I am loving right now with this sweet color combination.

Dress: Old Navy // Shoes: Report // Sunnies: Amazon // Bag: Kate Spade
A lot of the time blog content takes preparation, but in this case I woke up threw a dress on and headed to run errands. These pictures were snapped on a whim but turned out to be awesome. Sometimes you just got to go with your gut. It's not difficult to wear pink and red together. A lot of people feel like the two clash, the key is to wear them in a way that they do not compete. Here I have almost an equal amount of pink and red. The dress ties everything together with it's bold florals. You can pair one color as your purse and the other for your shoes. This is such a laid back but pull together look perfect for Summer parties and BBQ's! Looking for other ideas for dressing in red and pink, then see this post and this post.

The Master Bedroom is coming together finally! I wanted to share a little bit about the design. I posted on Instagram Stories, but for those of you who missed it here is a breakdown of the room.
The headboard is actually a room divider. I chose to put it behind the bed to give the room an anchor. Since most of the furniture is darker I felt like this was perfect against the pastel and white shades. The bedding actually came from two places including Target for the pink comforter. It's gathered in a diamond shape pattern. Although it's no longer available, I've linked another one below. The foot warmer is a twin size reversible comforter that was my Nana's. I folded it where it looks like there are three layers to the bedding. Finally, the eyelet lace bed skirt hides storage from below.
Wall Hangings and Decor
The two pieces of art were part of my old bedroom and I chose to hang them next to the bed. My mom actually scoured flea markets and thrift stores to find them. I love the style and how they tie into the bedding's color scheme. I also have hats hung around the room and love this giant boater as a piece of decor. The curtains were a fantastic Amazon find. I have two windows which I'll show in a later post, but here is a glimpse of their soft billowy ruffles. I've linked an exact match here for you guys. Just click on the picture and it will take you right to Amazon.

The Daily Dose feed has been challenging over the past few months to keep up with full blog posts and documenting quick content. I always envisioned expanded this little mini blog to include other types of inspiration and today is the day that I am going to. Today's post is all about inspiration. I fell in love with Pinterest back in 2011 when you had to have someone invite you to be apart of the network. I would spend HOURS scouring over DIY projects and fashion after work and putting my daughter away. I felt like it truly inspired me and made internet content so much more accessible. I'd like to share some of the things today I've found on Pinterest that I find really inspiring.
I hope I'm not overloading you with this red umbrella. I feel like it's been on repeat this season, but it's been so gloomy and the bright color brings a smile to my face against all of the gray skies. Last week I decided to grab my red rain boots and a rainbow knit bag I picked up last Summer for a colorful rain look. Add color on dreary days helps make everything so much brighter!

You may remember this cape I wore last Winter here. I love the combination of pink and navy. It's been one of my go to color combinations for years. I actually wore this look on Valentine's Day this year. I thought it was a little different than traditional pink and red. I also like the striped clutch gave it a nautical feel juxtaposed to the glittery sequin flats. Sequins can be worn all year round for any occasion if you manage to add a few casual details to offset their luxurious texture.

Boy has it been raining like crazy. I've been carrying this red umbrella with me at all times. I love a big sturdy umbrella instead of a collapsible folding one. I feel like when the wind is out it makes such a difference. Plus, if you're friend forgets hers you can share. Today I paired a pretty classic outfit with this red. I love these loafers I picked up last month and distressed denim. I paired it with a fun polka dot pajama like shirt and classic cream coat I've had for years.
Top and Jeans: Old Navy // Coat: Elle (old) // Umbrella: Totes (However, really love this one)// Purse: Michael Kors // Pumps: Kenneth Cole Reaction
