Last weekend I featured a new restaurant with healthy, delicious cuisine in this post - Houston Hotspot: Dish Society. While I love to eat a plant based diet, sometimes I get a craving for hearty savory foods and that brings me to today’s post on Whiskey Cake. Whiskey Cake Kitchen is a restaurant here in Houston with delicious made from scratch and locally sourced foods. They have a rustic atmosphere serving simple farm fresh foods with flavors that will quench anyone’s palette.
Start off with the goat cheese fondue if you don’t make it anywhere past an appetizer and cocktails. It’s to die for good! It’s pictured above and served with delicious slices of toasted bread. Be careful though, if you are splitting between just two people you may get full before dinner. We like to box up half of it for a midnight snack later on so we still have room for dinner.
From their cozy gathering spaces to the bathroom which is picture perfect and featured here (sorry not sorry for the selfies - haha!) the entire space is rustic, detailed and makes you want to curl up with a hot toddy or cup of coffee. I ordered their beet and goat cheese salad which was HUGE and I couldn’t even finish it.
Whiskey Cake also has a HUGE wine selection. Give me all of the delicious wine available! They make handcrafted cocktails with unique flavors you don’t see everyday. The presentation of each cocktail is an art in itself. They also hand make all of their cocktails. It’s a busy spot in Katy, TX on weekends so grabbing a drink at the bar before dinners is a perfect prelude for your meal while you wait.. Also if at bare minimum you order their Whiskey Cake dessert to go you MUST try their signature dessert. I mean, after all they did name the restaurant after this southern style dish,
I wore this Michael Kors blouse with grommet details on the shoulder. Although I rarely dress in all black, I do have a few staple pieces and this blouse is one of them! It’s on sale right now and is perfect tucked into skinny jeans. Instead of flats I added a pair of Marc Fisher black wedges. You can also wear a block heel and this pair is really similar to the ones I’m sporting today. They gift the illusion of a pointy pump but are more comfortable and easy to walk in. Add a rose printed bag - last seen in this post and this post for a little bit of red.
