After spending a whirlwind weekend in Vegas (a place I thought I’d never return to - never say never) I’m back and spending the day resting and getting life in order. I swear that place throws you completely off balance. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve returned to need a second vacation. Maybe it’s the lack of sleep or the scorching desert sun but I’m looking forward to being back in my normal routine.
It’s about this time of year I start itching for lighter and brighter colors that Spring time brings with it’s blooming flowers. After taking a few trips over the holidays and sporting more black than normal I’ve been pulling out a few of the pieces I purchased for Spring. This striped sweater from Gap was at the top of my list. Gap is one of my favorite places to pick up basic sweaters. I love the quality of their dyes and they always come in perfect thicknesses. Their sweaters are not too thick nor too thin. I picked this one up last year and was surprised how it carried into the warmer months since I always get cold. The good thing about a thin sweater is that you can wear it with shorts on a cool morning or evening or white linen pants.

Speaking of pants, I’ve had white jeans on constant replay lately. From this post where I wore them with white booties to today with these rose gold mule loafers, they are so versatile. When looking for a good pair of white jeans try getting them where the material is thicker and has a little stretch. I’ve mentioned my affinity for Old Navy jeans but I’ve heard really good things about Everlane and Madewell, too.
This outfit is a fresh take on classics like a pea coat and loafers. The rose gold adds a pop of unexpected metallic while the navy coat and beanie grounds the outfit. I love adding a little “extra” to something on an outfit to make it stand out - these loafers do the trick. I picked them up last season, but found similar options here, here and here. I found this pair with the cutest bow for less than $100!
