Au Revoir 2015

"Just when the caterpillar thought her life was over, she began to fly."

As we approach the end of 2015 I wanted to take a few minutes to reflect over this past year. I never would have imagined I would be where I am today when this year started. Most people start off with resolutions to live a healthier life at the beginning of the year. For me, this year my life started really "taking off" in the second semester. I've always been a hard worker, but something shifted in my personal life and my outlook improved. I started making different eating choices and exercise choices. I worked on putting things into my body that would create a better health and wellness. I began meditation, did major inward reflection and really sought out to create the person I wanted to be.

Everyone is unique - just like snowflakes. This blog has truly been a way of not only self-expression, but a way of sort of defining who I am. I've poured countless hours into creating content that reflects inward thoughts to share my story with you all. Thank you so much for following along as I endured one of the toughest and most rewarding years of my life. I look forward and welcome the new year! I have clear goals set forth and am so excited to share new adventure over the next 12 months. Cheers to 2016 and new beginnings!

Little Red Riding Hood

After much contemplating, I've decided to join in the costume festivities and go to a festival dressed as little red riding hood. I am a big believer of putting your own costume together and love to use real items I'd wear again and again. This year I decided to take my red midi skirt, mix it with a shirt I made a while back and add tall brown boots. I thought it would be really fun to put together an inspiration board of "little red riding hood" themed items. I am taking a picnic basket and made a red felt cape to go with the ensemble to top off the look, but you could easily mix some of the items I featured on this round up board to get your own look. One of the other things that is getting pretty popular is to add a few accessories to your outfit on the day of Halloween. Not everyone wants to go head-to-toe for their holiday inspired outfit. I found cute owl earrings and a plaid tote that add a woodsy feel. You could also invest in a new picnic basket and drape the wool blanket as a cape for costume inspired looks. I plan on topping off my look with a red lip and soft curls to give it a more youthful feel. Stayed tuned and make sure you follow me on Snapchat (heelclicksblog) and Instagram (threeheelclicks) to see the final product. I'll be headed to a Fall festival this weekend with my daughter and can't wait to get dolled up for the evening. I want to hear more ideas for Halloween costumes - feel free to send over some of your costumes! I love receiving emails from you guys! Also, stay tuned for an upcoming special newsletter. I am going to start releasing a newsletter a couple times a month - so make sure you sign up in the box on the right hand side!
